Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 26, 2026

Privacy summary: The app has no user accounts, advertising, tracking or developer analytics. Raw Apple Watch motion data is processed live on the device and is not stored or transmitted to the developer. Training data remains in the private app containers on the user's devices.

1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Shooting Percentage app for Apple Watch and iPhone, the website at shootingpercentageapp.com and support communications sent to the developer. It explains what information is processed, for which purposes, and what choices users have.

2. App data processed on your devices

Shooting Percentage processes Apple Watch motion data live to detect shooting movements and confirmation gestures. Raw motion data is not stored or transmitted. Shooting results, categories, dates, settings and personal-record reset dates are stored locally in the private app containers on your devices.

The developer does not receive or have access to this locally stored app data.

3. Device synchronization

Training history and app settings are transferred only between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. The developer does not operate a server for this transfer and cannot access the synchronized data.

4. Health and Motion permissions

Motion access is used for shot and confirmation-gesture detection. HealthKit workout authorization is used only to manage a basketball workout session so detection can continue when the Apple Watch display dims.

The app does not request read access to heart rate or health history and does not receive, store or transmit heart-rate values. watchOS may manage device sensors while a workout session is active. Health and Motion permissions can be revoked in Apple system settings or the Health app. Affected detection or background operation may then stop working.

5. Preferences and local storage

UserDefaults stores app preferences and internal migration or synchronization state. It is not used for tracking, advertising, profiling or accessing data from other apps. Training session records are stored as local files in the app's private container.

6. Sharing and third parties in the app

The app contains no developer analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party data services. A shooting report leaves the app only when you explicitly use Apple's system share sheet and choose a destination. The selected destination processes the shared content under its own privacy terms.

7. App data retention and deletion

Local data remains until it is removed through an available app control or the app is deleted. Because history can exist on both paired devices, delete the app from both the iPhone and Apple Watch to remove all local copies. Since the developer cannot access your local app data, deletion is performed directly on your devices.

8. Collection by the developer

The developer does not collect, sell, rent or otherwise receive personal data from the app. The app does not create user accounts.

9. Website hosting and connection data

This website is hosted using Cloudflare Pages and delivered through Cloudflare's network. When you access the website, technical connection data may be processed to deliver and secure the site. This may include your IP address, date and time of access, requested page, browser and device information, referrer information and security-related request data.

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure, reliable and efficient provision of this website. Technical data is retained only for as long as necessary for delivery, security, abuse prevention and applicable legal obligations.

Service provider: Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, California 94107, USA. Cloudflare may process data through a global network, including in the United States. Cloudflare states that it relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, where applicable, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers. Further information is available in Cloudflare's Privacy Policy and its GDPR information.

10. Cookies, analytics and external content

This website does not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, social-media plugins, contact forms or externally hosted fonts. The website itself does not set optional cookies. Links to external websites are opened only when you choose them; the respective provider's privacy terms then apply.

11. Contacting support

If you contact the developer by email, your email address, message content and related communication metadata are processed to answer your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR when the request relates to an app purchase or support relationship, and otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR based on the legitimate interest in responding to inquiries. Communications are deleted when no longer necessary, unless legal retention obligations apply.

Support email is routed using Cloudflare Email Routing and delivered to a mailbox provided by GMX, a service of 1&1 Mail & Media GmbH, Germany. In providing email delivery, these providers may process sender and recipient addresses, message content, attachments and technical delivery metadata.

12. Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. For the developer's establishment, the competent authority is:

The Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Germany. Information and complaint options are available at lda.bayern.de.

These rights concern data actually processed by the controller, such as support emails or technical website data. The developer cannot retrieve app data stored only on your devices.

13. Children

The app does not create accounts or collect personal data from users, including children. Parents and guardians should supervise device permissions and use of the system share sheet where appropriate.

14. Controller and contact

The controller responsible for this website and, where applicable, personal data processed in connection with support requests is:

15. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the app, website, hosting or legal requirements change. Material changes will be published on this page and, where appropriate, reflected in the app. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
